I became interested in birth work following the birth of my oldest child over 20 years ago and began training as a doula and attending births. My doula work led me to choose a home birth with a midwife in the community for my second child’s birth. It was such an incredible experience and so empowering and I knew that I one day wanted to be a midwife myself.
In 2018, I began my midwifery education at Midwives College of Utah and began apprenticing with local midwives to learn clinical skills. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in midwifery in 2023.
I want all my clients to know and understand their choices in childbirth and to feel supported and empowered in the choices they make, just as I was during my pregnancy, labor and postpartum period.
When I’m not at a birth, you can find me spending time with my family and friends, reading, buying more houseplants, attending Pilates classes, or riding my bike around Santa Cruz where I live with my family.
I’m a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment and informed healthcare. With over 18 years of experience in the IT field, I bring a unique perspective to the world of women’s health and childbirth.
With a deep commitment to providing personalized, evidence-based care, my goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where my clients can make informed choices about their own bodies and childbirth experiences. I’m a graduate of the Midwives College of Utah and a lifelong learner and researcher of birth and women’s health.
When I’m not attending births, I’m likely diving into the latest childbirth studies, adding to my collection of vintage midwifery items, and traveling between my family members in California, Minnesota, and England.
Pregnancy and birth are normal and natural processes and the way a person chooses to give birth should be honored and respected.
As homebirth midwives, we strive to support this process by nurturing your sense of personal strength and self confidence so that your birth may be an empowering experience.
We are committed to offering education to provide you with information so that you may make choices which serve you and your family best.
There is no risk-free way to have a baby. But working in partnership with families creates an environment for clients and partners to assess risks and choose for themselves any decisions about their care.
